    2008 DICE Summit Overview

    On February 6-8, 2008, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences held their 7th annual D.I.C.E. Summit.  This year’s Summit was held for the first time at the Red Rock Hotel, Resort & Casino.  For three days the D.I.C.E. Summit was home to the brightest and most creative minds of the interactive entertainment industry to share partake in seminars and exchange all ideas both in and out of the video game industry.   Acclaimed speakers from the industry included: Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat, Epic Games President Mike Capps and  Blizzard Entertainment President & Co-founder Mike Morhaime.  Special speakers from outside of the industry include: Pirates of the Caribbean Director Gore Verbinski who was the keynote for the D.I.C.E. Summit.

    The 11th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards took place Thursday, February 7, 2008, in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Resort Hotel & Casino. The ceremony's 11th anniversary show brought together the best, brightest, and biggest names in gaming to celebrate accomplishment, creativity, and great games from 2007. This year the Academy proudly presented Ken Kutaragi with a Lifetime Achievement Award and inducted Mike Morhaime into the Hall of Fame.
