On February 7-9, 2007, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences held their 6th annual D.I.C.E. Summit. This year’s Summit was held at Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas. For three days the D.I.C.E. Summit was home to the brightest and most creative minds of the interactive entertainment industry to share partake in seminars and exchange all ideas both in and out of the video game industry. Acclaimed speakers from the industry included: Gas Powered Games President & Designer Chris Taylor, Ubisoft’s VP of Publishing Jay Cohen, Harmonix CEO and founder Alex Rigopulous and Foundation 9 Chairman & CEO Jon Goldman.
This marked the 10th anniversary of the Interactive Achievement Awards, the most prestigious awards in the gaming industry. Always among the biggest nights of the year, the 10th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards took place on Thursday, February 8, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Held at “The Joint” at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, the ceremony’s 10th anniversary show brought together the best, brightest, and biggest names in gaming to celebrate accomplishment, creativity, and great games from 2006, as well as recognizing industry achievement with a special 10th anniversary “Hall of Fame” inductee. The 10th anniversary ceremony was hosted by comedian, actor, and avid gamer, Jay Mohr, and included many of the biggest names in the gaming industry.
