President

Kabam Studios

Andrew Sheppard is President of Kabam Studios, the western world leader in free-to-play core games. Andrew oversees Kabam’s game studios in San Francisco, Beijing and Vancouver. Andrew joined Kabam in 2009 to grow the young company’s games business and pioneered Kabam’s unique approach of blending art and science to create mass-market commercial games that thrill players worldwide.  The popularity of Kabam games enabled the company to gross more than $180 million in revenue in 2012.

Since its early days when Kabam was comprised of a handful of people working above a dim sum restaurant, Andrew has overseen the strategy and development of seven Kabam games that gross more than $1 million per month, including the award-winning Kingdoms of Camelot, a $250 million franchise, and games based on such iconic Hollywood films such as The HobbitFast & Furious 6 and The Godfather.  In 2012, Andrew and his team had the top grossing app on iOS (Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North).

Andrew has more than a decade of gaming experience, having joined Kabam from hi5 Networks where he led the company’s transformation from a social network to a social gaming distribution platform.  Prior to hi5, Andrew helped launch and scale the publishing business for game developer Outspark.  Earlier, he led online and free-to-play strategy at Electronic Arts.

Andrew received an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and graduated with Honors from Pomona College with a BA in Economics.
