    2011 DICE Summit Overview

    On February 9-11, 2011, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences held the 10th annual D.I.C.E. Summit.  This year’s Summit was held at the Red Rock Resort & Casino.  For three days the D.I.C.E. Summit was home to the brightest and most creative minds of the interactive entertainment industry to partake in seminars and exchange all ideas both in and out of the video game industry.     The 14th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards took place Thursday, February 10, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bing Gordon was named the 5th Lifetime Achievement recipient for his incredible contributions during his 28 year career. Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk (a.k.a. “The Doctors”) were inducted into the Hall of Fame for their incredible work with BioWare and Bill Budge was named the 2nd annual AIAS Pioneer Award recipient for his critical work in founding and continuing to grow our industry.

    Additionally the 2nd Annual Indie Game Challenge took place on Friday, February 11, 2011, in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Hotel Resort & Casino.  The ceremony’s 2nd event celebrated budding amateur and professional game makers and their impressive accomplishments.  G4 TV X-Play host and gamer Adam Sessler hosted this event.
