Mark Cerny has been working in game design and technology for 20 years, beginning with Major Havoc and Marble Madness during the Golden Age of arcade games, and continuing through Jak and Daxter in 2001. Cerny has worked in Japan for Sega, launched the Sega Technical Institute here in the US, was Technical Director for Crystal Dynamics, and as President of Universal Interactive Studios oversaw the creation of the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon series. Cerny now works as an independent game design consultant through his company, Cerny Games, Inc.

Cerny hosted a seminar discussing "Planning, Scheduling, and Other Bad Habits of Game Development."
