CastAR

Jeri Ellsworth is the inventor and chief hardware engineer behind the development and manufacture of castAR, an augmented reality system. Her broad skillset has made her well-known in the hardware industry for designing reliable chip sets and systems that are low cost and highly integrated - her cutting-edge consumer products have a long history of selling in the millions. Prior to co-founding castAR with video game veteran Rick Johnson, Jeri held the lead designer position on numerous consumer products, and has driven many projects from concept to mass production. She is intimately familiar with the day-to-day operations, as well as how to build efficient engineering teams in new company environments.

Jeri has become an icon in the maker/educational community, best known for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible from an individual. In 2012, she was presented the Maker Hero of the Year award by MAKE Magazine.
