Editor-in-Chief

The Escapist

Julianne Greer was a lifelong gamer and relative outsider to traditional gaming journalism when she co-founded The Escapist in July 2005.  She has served as Editor-in-Chief for the online magazine since its inception, growing it to over 3.5 million monthly readers and actualizing her vision of editorial coverage for gaming that befits the most important entertainment industry of the 21st century.  For this reason, she was named One of Gaming's Top 50 Journalists by Next Gen in 2006.  She is a frequent speaker at conferences, and guest/co-host on podcast and radio shows discussing everything from getting into the industry to media's role in the gaming industry.

Ms. Greer is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied ancient history.
